A Big Step: Moving to Swindon
Taking the next step in your career is an exciting prospect, packed with excitement, hope for the future, and perhaps even some nerves too! However, when the change to your professional life overlaps with the need to move to a new home, it can be a daunting prospect to try and tackle alone.
The challenge of preparing for a new role coupled with a house move was one faced by our recent client. Previously located in Bristol, the need to relocate to Swindon occurred when their career took them to the town.
Luckily, our Bristol moving branch were on hand to offer support, guidance, and exceptional moving services, including our full packing service.
Preparing to Move
As the client was moving for work purposes, they required three quotations to provide to their employer. GB Liners was selected as the best removal company for the job, allowing our Bristol moving team to begin planning the move.
It became apparent from the pre-move survey that it would be too big of a job for a single vehicle, requiring our team to utilise two of our vans in order to ensure the move was completed in a timely, efficient manner and all items were transported and delivered safely and in good condition.
Amongst the items being moved from the house, garden, garage, and loft, GB Liners assisted in safely moving an upright piano. Moving pianos is a difficult task – they are both extremely heavy and sensitive to movement, and extreme caution is required in order to ensure the outside of the piano is not scratched, and the internal mechanisms do not suffer any damage. To accomplish this, we utilised specialist equipment, including a piano cover.
As part of our full packing services, we helped support the client with preparing every item in their home for the move. Our team are both experienced and trained at our in-house school in best packing practices, allowing for the safest possible transportation of precious belongings, and we are able to provide high-quality packing materials where required.
Additional items of note that required extra attention during the move included a heavy sofa bed, wardrobe, and bed, which all needed to be dismantled and reassembled at the end destination, as well as plenty of breakable garden pots that needed protection from accidental damage!
Client Feedback
With the move completed, our client reached out to thank the GB Liners team:
“Just a note to say thank you to you all at GB Liners. As you know we have just completed a 3 day move and couldn’t be more pleased. Dave was calm and in control instilling confidence in us that all was well – his team included Brian (who persisted and conquered a tricky rebuild of the Ikea sofa), Steve who couldn’t be more willing to help, Ben who did a fantastic job taking down and putting up a massive cupboard in the bedroom and Adam expertly packed my kitchen. They were all great and worked hard – thanks to all the team.”
