Huge shoutout to Ady for an incredible 20 years of service! After a remarkable career, our beloved colleague, Ady Penfold, is embarking on a well-deserved retirement.
Ady joined GB Liners Brighton over 20 years ago, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the removals industry. Prior to his time at GB Liners, Ady worked for Bishops Removals and Kents Removals, honing his skills and knowledge.
Before his domestic removals experience, Ady also ventured abroad to Libya to sell greenhouses for Clovisland.
As Ady steps away from the daily grind, we want to express our sincere gratitude for his unwavering dedication, hard work, and invaluable contributions to GB Liners. His expertise, positive attitude, and camaraderie will be greatly missed by all.
A few words from the man himself: “My time at GB Liners was a colourful tapestry woven with countless anecdotes, each more peculiar than the last. One memory that stands out vividly involves a police inspector. This officer, a man of discerning taste, insisted that his compost heap be moved in black bags. The reasoning behind this unusual request remains a mystery, but it undoubtedly added a touch of the absurd to our otherwise routine removals.”
“Another memorable encounter was with a woman who had a truly extraordinary hobby: breeding guinea pigs. Her collection was nothing short of impressive, with over 150 of these furry creatures populating her home. The sheer number of guinea pigs was a sight to behold, and their collective chirping provided a unique soundtrack to our work”.
“I’ve always had a wanderlust spirit, and over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to explore many parts of Europe and the UK. A few years ago, a health scare forced me to reevaluate my lifestyle. I made some significant changes, including losing a considerable amount of weight, so I am now fitter than I was in my earlier days!”
Outside of work, Ady is a man of diverse interests. He has a deep appreciation for music, often sharing his favourite tunes with us during our working day. Animals are another passion, and he has a particular fondness for dogs. When he isn’t enjoying the company of his furry friends, he can often be found engrossed in games of Scrabble or chess, or simply spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren.
We wish Ady all the best in his retirement. May this new chapter be filled with joy, relaxation, and countless adventures.
